True story - it's not necessarily linear. I just find Maslow useful in the sense that Esc members often seem to be be tripped up by the question - 'how am I going to finance this?' Once they've sorted out their financial solution - whether it's changing their flatting circumstances, or taking on a part-time role - they can then focus on their self-actualisation / expression 'needs'. Have been meaning to get in touch with Sandbox - thanks for the reminder!

Great stuff. Really agree. I've read and enjoyed David Brooks, Steve Pavlina, Seth Godin, Eric Berne and Daniel Pink.

About Maslow - I think it's a bit old fashioned now. My friends at Sandbox point out that we don't have to or want to pass through all the levels of needs to reach self actualisation - it's not linear.

More information here about Gen Y, and impact organisation hierarchy of needs check http://www.sandbox-network.com/impact/ - and do check out Chistian's excellent TED talk which has a link at the bottom of that link.

Best,
