Calling all New York Esc-ers! Are you stumped on ways you can give back this holiday season? If so, fear not: Esc’s Liz Elfman has got you covered. We’ve spent some time researching a handful of wonderful organizations in the City who are busily working to help those in need this winter.

Who: New York Cares

What They’re Doing: Hosting a coat drive from November 15 to December 31
How You Can Help: Give, sort, or collect coats, or make a financial donation.

Who: Hetrick Martin Institute
Where: 2 Astor Place @ Broadway
What They’re Doing: A donation drive in support of empowerment, education and advocacy for LGBT youth.
How You Can Help: By donating gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Who: The Bowery Mission

What They’re Doing: A faith-based organization that is collecting clothing, goods, and foods.
How You Can Help: Donate, or contact them for partnership opportunities to launch drives at congregations, organizations, workplaces, or schools.

Who: Safe Horizon

What They’re Doing: Collecting holiday donations to support and promote justice for victims of crime and violence
How You Can Help: donate items such as toys, clothing, office furniture, and printers, up until December 15th.

Who: The Dwelling Place

What They’re Doing: Publishing a “wish-list” on Amazon to support homeless women
