Hello USA!

Hello All!

If you’re reading this then you are one of the lucky ones. This is our first US Newsletter and I am extremely proud to be the one introducing it to you. From now on I’ll be here to help.

I did four years of banking before I decided I just couldn’t handle the corporate environment any more. I wanted to do something different, start something of my own and actually help people in some way. So my promise to you is that I will be here working non-stop trying to find the most useful and inspirational content and opportunities that I can to help all of you with your own escapes.

Life is too short to not spend it doing something you love. And if you don’t know what you love, then that is precisely why we’re here. Browse our hero stories, contact them, watch our videos, follow our links, find business partners, apply for amazing jobs around the world… We are trying to help everyone in as many ways as we can think of with the things that we know would have helped us when we were looking for that inspiration, so please always e-mail me with any feedback, suggestions or questions.

In fact I’d really like to get an e-mail right now. mike@escapethecity.org just say “hi”, just one word. Or even tell me your life story; I’d love to hear it.

EscapeTheCity loves you

All the best

Mikey

Yay! I’m so glad you’re covering the US now- I’ve been pining away for so many of the great finds and opportunities that would have me husband hunting for a green card (kidding). Anyway, best of luck, and I’m looking forward to planning my “escape” with your help!

    • Mike

Hey Mara, thanks for the message! All the best with your search, will help you as much as I can!

      Thanks, we’ll keep it up!

Brilliant. A site finally for people of my ilk. I can’t tell you how many people ask me how I have lived such a varied life, sailing the Caribbean as a deck hand, Interior Designer in Sydney, Yoga teacher in Caribbean, it’s out there if you want it. If your looking for US staff I am just starting a new chapter in The Hamptons in NY and was wondering what I was going to do next when I saw an article on your site……keep up the good work.

Thanks so much! Stay in touch, i’m sure we’ll need the help at some point. I’m sure being out in the Hamptons will make for a nice new chapter!

  • Michelle Schumacher

I know that I don’t want to be in the corporate world anymore! Sick of the backstabbing, politics and bs and a**-kissing to get ahead! IL jobs are hard to come by and somebody mentioned your site to me last night so I look forward to something better on your site.
Thanks for launching this alternative to a real life!!!

Thanks Michelle, hope we can find something for you. Please send any thoughts/feedback you might have, always good to know what people are looking for. mike@escapethecity.org

Like Cay, I’ve ‘escaped the city’ and returned to start a new chapter. Neither is an easy transition. But by following your heart and gut, there won’t be regrets. Figuring out what they are saying, on the other hand, is a completely different story.

Congrats on the US launch! I’ll be checking for new posts.
